If I turn a check in for collateral when will the magistrate actually cash it?
Got a traffic citation and must pay collateral for court. I’m thinking they wait until after the trial until they cash it but I’m not sure.

I’m wondering to see so I can make sure I have the minimum amount to cover the check in my account by the court date.

It will be submitted for payment as soon as it is received. How long it actually takes to filter through your local court systems accounting department and make it to your bank is a "How long is a piece of string?" question. Courts are government agencies. As such, their accounting procedures are frequently Byzantine in their complexity. I once had a court submit a $150 check of mine that they had lost five months before. Not only that, but because I’d given them a replacement check, they owed me a refund - for doing which they charged me a $25 administrative fee!

For those of you that haven’t watched this movie, I say you absolutely should. It is a twisted story about love and shows how social pressure leads two lovers in different directions and are never able to express how they feel to one another. Plot: Claude Eastman, is a composer and conductor. He is married to Daniella, who is half his age. While away on a trip he told his Italian driver, Giuseppe, to tell his friend Norman to keep an eye on her, or take care of her. But his english is not too good, so Norman thought he was saying that Claude wanted him to hire a private eye to keep tabs on her. Which he did. Claude tells him that it’s ok but the man Norman hired gives him his report and it says something happened while he was away. Claude, of course, tells him to throw it away but after Norman leaves, Claude tries to retrieve it and tries to read it but Daniella’s there, when Giuseppe destoys it, he goes to the man Norman hired to get a copy. He tells Claude that a man went into his apartment while he was away and left at an unusual hour, and that he also has a video. Claude tells him to destroy it but shortly after leaving returns so that he can watch it. Now the video’s a little fuzzy but clearly he can see that the man wears a particular type of clothing. Claude goes around checking every man he knows to see if they wear that clothing. He discovers that Max, his protege and a ladies man wears it. After confronting Daniella, she is harboring a secret but not what Claude thinks it is, so when she tells Claude that it’s no big thing, Claude freaks out, and is planning to kill her and frame Max but an unforeseen circumstance disrupts the perfect plan he dreamed up.

Image change and planes: people still don't talk to me?
The problem is, my life is very segmented and I rarely carry over friends. I haven’t had a regular group of friends since I was 14. Now I’m 23. I have about 500 friends on Facebook and in all of January I got like five wall posts.

First I lived away for university, then I moved to another town (different from where I grew up and went to school) and I started commuting to school, then I volunteered in Africa, then I took a class in Quebec City (from Toronto), then I went on exchange to Amsterdam, and now I have no one to talk to since I’m back at home and commuting again. I’m looking forward to my volunteer trip in Morocco, but then what?

I haven’t kept in touch with the people I lived on residence with since I haven’t been able to go out or spend time with other students, and so I haven’t seen most of them in years. The only people I see are in my classes and I only talk to them about class-related stuff.

I’m not desperately lonely because school and my career prospects keep me busy, but I would like people to somehow converse more freely with me. For example, if I change my Facebook profile picture to something pretty cool, no one comments. In person I’m really friendly to everyone I know but that doesn’t seem to have an effect on their reactions towards me. They still seem cautious, more than I ever am.

I was weird in high school and during first year university where I met a lot of the people I currently know around campus, mainly due to the pills I was on. They made me indifferent to how I was perceived, and so I did a few crazy things. Understandably, reputation-minded teens stayed away. If I knew the effect my behaviour would have, and that first year university would be my last chance, I would have given it more consideration.

Now, I’m a nice guy who’s really friendly with some interesting experiences and stories, but people still aren’t comfortable around me for the most part. I manage by getting to know lots of people in each of my classes and everyone through a volunteer club on campus. I also have a lot of good friends from when I went on exchange in other countries.

I still lack good friends, though, and that scares potential new friends away, and women as well. Even though I’m pretty secure with myself and my experiences in the last few years, I think maybe I’m doing it to make up for my lack of a life here at home. Others don’t travel like I do, but they’re still happy spending time with their friends and significant others. I’m just looking for my next chance to get on a plane, start a new adventure, and not worry about my past. Is that even normal or healthy?

I’ve only seen her play 1 other role other than her usual comedy ones. She was in the "Mothman Prophecies", but she had a very small part.
