Prisons have their own honor systems.
In the Boston area, there was a priest who was put in prison for molesting children. He was found dead in his cell one morning, he’d been murdered by a fellow inmate. No one knew a thing, no one saw a thing….
I wonder if a real terrorist was actually in a US prison right alongside our own people. Our own people, for the most part have their own code of honor. I have thought about some criminal personalities and how some of them, aside from that one or two things they did that were bad and they got caught at can be decent. I wonder if they also were upset and hurt on 9/11? I would think they were upset right along with the rest of America and the world.
So, do you think they would stand for a terrorist right alongside them? I just can’t picture it.
There could be a 2 or 3% that would be recruitable, but I kind of doubt it.

I have no one any more…?
I Have been going through a lot i have lost most of my close friends. I have a few friends but there never able to talk or hang out with me i feel like they don’t understand i broke up with my boyfriend 5 months ago because my ex best friend told me lies about him said he was cheating, doing drugs, and going out with me on a bet. Well later i found out that wasn’t true when she admitted it to me 2 months ago and i miss him so much and wish i could tell him this but the chances of him listening to me is slim to none. I told his friend because he asked why we broke up and i think he might have said something to my ex boyfriend. I am always alone i feel so down and i have to pretend i am happy at school when i am hurting. I have Nobody my friends seem to have moved on and don’t care weather i am at school or dead in a ditch it seems like. I am always happy when i am around them but it seems they just want nothing to do with me. I am going through a tough time i cry so much that i swear by the end of the day there isn’t tears left. i know i’m whining but i am wondering how everyone else deals with times like this what do they do? To me every time i take a step to move on i take a big step back. So please help me please tell me how you’d deal with similar things?

Last year, I ended up having no friends and with no one to cope with me. I had to go to school still, but I always had at least someone to hang with during lunch and stuff so I wouldn’t be alone. Mine’s crazy, drunken, old, always barely dressed and always asking for something. Plus she’s going deaf so she SCREAMS everything. And if I don’t lock the doors, she comes right in! Well, not all the way, but she’ll open the front door and yell at the top of her lungs till you go to the foyer to see what she wants. To top it off, they have a dog that craps in my yard and her husband is really mean to it (I hate the thing, but I’d never treat an animal like he does).

yes, the old man to the left on my house phones the cops on me and my friends everytime we play street hockey. The guy to my right is crazy and lost his job at a near by school for stealing kids lunches years ago before i moved here, the lady next to him has a old rundown house because she has lived there for 50years and she goes out every garbage day hoarding, the lady next to her phones the fire department everytime we have a fire at the fire pit in my backyard. the dude across the street from me told my parents on several occasions that i was throwing rocks at his car ;S(why the fuck would i do that??, what would i get out of it??). and yeah… the guy at the top of my street we cot him twice trying 2 steal sht out of my backyard and he pees in the garden in front of his house all the time cause he has no running water(makes my street smell like piss)… and i think thats all the freaks on my street, realestate agients should be required to tell u this stuff before u buy the house :S

My parents own a cafe and their employers are…?
Okay long story but I’d appreicate any advice?

Employer my parents have right now have been working at this cafe for over 2 years so he has experience but then comes my cousin who just worked @ the cafe for a month 1/2 now but he screws everything up, i mean, fast learner but rude and ignorant. comes to work late, eats all the food, lazy, text alot, gets easily distracted…

Difference between my iTunes song count and iPod song count?
My iTunes library has exactly 15 songs more than my iPod library, and every time I sync my iPod those mysterious 15 songs don’t get added. I don’t know how to figure out which ones they are, and I’m sure as hell not goin’ through 8000 songs individually. What do I do?

sometimes some music files like to take permanent residence in an iPod, and won’t go away even if you take all the music off of it via iTunes. The only way to get rid of them is to restore

When I first downloaded itunes, there were 15 songs already in the library, almost like sample music but it was all crap that I would never listen too. I didnt delete it at first and I later had the same problem. I ended up going through ALL my songs to find them and it was a pain. Im sure there is an easier way to do it tho., just not sure how.

im a bit confused regarding buddhism and law of attraction?
ok so i heard about ‘the secret’ awhile ago, i didnt read/see it but iv read some other similar stuff for example the celestine prophecy. about how there is an abundance etc and that you can attract the things you want into your life if you are positive and believe it will happen…..everything starts off as just a thought….law of attraction etc…..and i must say that i tried it once when i was looking for a job and it did actually happen….i found a job that had all the qualities i was after but in a field i hadnt considered before!
i also believe that all things natural like trees give off vibes, unlike man made materials if that makes sense.

but after seeing the Bulletproof Monk on tv this wk, i read up on buddhism and it makes soooooo much sense…..i mean very recently i was infatuated with this guy, who i didnt really know well but i was really attracted to him physically and built up a picture in my mind how he would be….but i have been so miserable lately because hes not who i imagined him to be….and so iv basically caused my own suffering because of stupid lust

and iv always been an over thinker which i hate because my mind never shuts off, i think far too much and analyse everything.

so im thinking these buddhist principles are spot on, and that if we want unrealistic things we are just setting ourselves up for pain.

my question is though……how does the law of attraction fit in with buddhism :S surely they conflict and you cant believe in both ?
also iv been vegetarian almost all my life because i dont believe in killin animals for food, also i dont drink anymore because i dont think i need to intoxicate myself to have a good time, plus i never get involved in gossiping or bitching about people, and i really want to do some volunteer work….lol so atm it sounds like id fit right in with buddhism

well, the ’secret’ is not the only of ‘great discoveries’ of nowadays ‘geniuses’. plenty of this stuff can be found in popular psychology. secret they don’t tell is these concepts were first written about 5000 years ago.

the law of attraction how you call it fits fine into most buddhist schools, yet it’s not a buddhist concept. buddhism inherits this concept from vedic tradition. and vedic tradition gave name to this concept - karma. law of attraction merely is a tiny bit of karma concept. no secrets.

also, to study buddhism, not city legends, stay away from popular sources like bulletproof. find a local community and start practising. in last 5000 years it is the only way to learn that has been found.
